1^st Annual Paddle For People

Location:  Pollocksville, NC

Start Time: 8:30 am

Philippians 4:13 Ministry will hold a fund raising event to raise funds for Mercie Clinic, New Bern, NC and Hope Clinic in Pamlico County, NC. 

We will paddle down the beautiful Trent River starting in Pollocksville and ending in New Bern.  There are three (3) paddling skill levels.

1.    Beginner:  The beginner 2 hour paddle around Pollocksville.  We will start in Pollocksville and end in Pollocksville.  The Trent River is mostly undeveloped in this area.

2.    Intermediate:  This will start in Pollocksville and end at River Bend.  This is about 8 miles down the beautiful Trent  River.  This paddle will end where the river starts to widen out at the entrance to River Bend.

3.    Advanced:  This will start in Pollocksville and end in New Bern at Lawson Creek Park.  This is about 16 miles down the Trent River.

Transportation will be provided from the take out points back to Pollocksville for you to retrieve your car and return to load your boat.  We will have staff on hand at the takeout points to oversee the boats and assist in any way we can.  There will be Paddle guides for each group to lead the way and boats will be positioned along the way to assist anyone needing help.

The cost will be $20.00 per person and will include a box lunch, drink and a cap.  We are asking each person to get ten (10) sponsors at a minimum of $10 per sponsor.  The sponsor donations are tax deductible and will be given entirely to the Clinics.  For more information contact Glen & Joyce Snader at srssystems@embarqmail.com

At the beginning of the event we will recognize the paddler that has traveled the farthest, the oldest and the youngest paddler, the paddle club with the most members participating, the paddler with the most sponsors and the paddler with the highest dollar amount from sponsors.
